Welcome to glioBLAST!

On average 3200 people are diagnosed with a glioblastoma each year in the UK. It is the most common and aggressive type of high-grade brain tumour. Roughly half of this number, 1600 people get the worst, unmethylated glioblastoma. The life expectancy is 12 months or less with only 5% living to 5 years+.

Our wonderful NHS offers only radiotherapy and chemotherapy  and has achieved very little in the past 30 years in terms of developing a successful treatment. Radiotherapy can delay death a little, and in unmethylated glioblastoma chemotherapy is ineffective.

There are charities who help victims and their families prior to death and other charities which help families post death. glioBLAST is the only charity which will help extend these lives by funding treatment for those without private healthcare as there are life extending treatments available in the UK and Germany, but they all cost a lot!

So please, as an organisation donate, as an individual donate and change the world until a true cure is developed. Keep these families together longer!
