Fundraiser Pub Quiz at The Waverley Inn, Weybridge
The wonderful team at The Waverley Inn in Weybridge have so kindly allowed us to do a fundraising Pub Quiz. The team kindly looked after Simon after his initial diagnosis helping him rediscover his smile. A “Pub Quiz” is not something they normally do, as it’s a magnificent upmarket Inn with outstanding staff, so this means the world to us. The food they produce is beautiful with a great selection of wines, beers and cocktails! We cannot thank them enough.
After learning from the initial pub quiz, this quiz will start at 7.30pm and end at 9.30pm, so I highly suggest you book to eat there beforehand and then stay for the quiz with last orders being normal on a Sunday.
Our great friend Anne, and her brilliant hubby Pat, will produce the seriously challenging questions again, but with only 3 or maximum of 4 rounds. The Quiz Master will be announced soon!
All funds from this quiz night will go towards funding my treatment to stay alive and get me the 5+ years which I target to be around my family and friends.
I have Left anterior temporal Glioblastoma, IDH wild type, CNS WHO Grade 4, TERT promoter mutation, MGMT promoter unmethylated. Basically, the worst brain cancer with no current cure. NHS treatment is very limited and has no effect on this cancer. So, all treatments are private, some not available in the UK, and the ones we are targeting are all DNA based (IOSK, DCVaX or CeGaT), and awaiting confirmation as to which is going to buy the most time for me and between £107k and £200k each, so evenings like this are crucial. This is the 2nd local one and is crucial to fundraising.
Please contribute £10 per person for a ticket, max of 8 per team, and email hello@glioblast.org with your name and number of team members so we can arrange seating and let us know your team name. If you are interested in an individual ticket, we will find you a team to join if you like. We will announce prizes for the quiz winners and raffle very soon with some amazing prizes again and a separate raffle for even bigger prizes (£10 per ticket also).
